Food Allergens

If you have a severe food allergy or a question about ingredients, please ask for the manager on duty. Dining Hall and Retail Restaurant recipes are prepared in common kitchen areas where food allergens are present. Many dishes are made using equipment used to prepare other dishes that may contain allergens.

What if I am on a special diet?

All of our Dining Halls serve from a diverse catalog of over 4,000 menu items and recipes, covering a wide range of dietary needs, including  allergen-free, vegan/vegetarian and athletic nutrition.

Students with a condition that requires a special diet may request a Special Diet Meal Plan. Find more information in our Policies.

We label these ingredients: Egg, Fish, Milk, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Pork, Sesame, Shellfish, Soy and Wheat

We Label the Big 9 Allergens on Our Menus

Our entire team is trained on food allergens, food safety, and we are committed to providing the safest, most enjoyable experience possible for all guests. Even though a specific recipe may not include any Big 9 Food Allergen ingredients, there is a chance of cross-contamination during preparation and/or service.
Many of the items served in our Dining Halls are produced by Clark Bakery, UNT’s central scratch bakery. Some Clark Bakery recipes do not include Big 9 Allergen ingredients, but those allergens are used in other recipes produced within that facility.

Guests with severe food allergies should consult with your physician, carry your EpiPen and know how to use it.
