Dining Dollar Plans

What You Get

Dining Dollars are a monetary amount loaded onto your UNT ID card. Your ID functions like a gift card on campus at all Retail Restaurants like The Market, Food Court, Chick-fil-A, and Einstein Bros. Bagels, as well as at Dining Halls (door rate per entry).

Enjoy eating at any Retail Restaurant, Dining Hall and Discovery Park, anytime Dining Services venues are open during the Fall, Spring or Summer semester. When asked for your payment method, tell the cashier you’re using Dining Dollars and swipe your UNT ID card.

All Faculty/Staff Plans must be purchased online. If you have difficulty accessing Mealplans.unt.edu, please contact us at 940-565-2462 or Dining@unt.edu so that we can assist you. We cannot take payment by phone or in our office.

Prices with tax: DD 1,000 = $1,082.50 / DD 500 = $541.25 / DD 250 = $270.63 / DD 100 = $108.25.
 

 

Eligibility

Only current Faculty/Staff or Retirees of UNT and the UNT System may purchase a Faculty/Staff Meal Plan. Current students have access to a variety of Student Meal Plans.

All Other Guests may pay our Standard Door Rate.

Risk-free & refundable

Effective September 1, 2024, all Faculty/Staff Meal Plans are refundable upon request within 90 days of purchase. Simply fill out our Refund Request form, and please allow 5-10 business days for processing. Any previously purchased Faculty/Staff Meal Plans (e.g. Faculty Staff 10, 30, 50) will expire on August 7, 2026.

STAFF APPRECIATION MONTH

Throughout the month of March, Dining Services is offering entry into any Dining Hall for just $8.83 (plus tax) for staff and faculty.

These plans are available for purchase anytime, read their full descriptions below to help you choose. All Unused Swipes expires on August 7, 2026. Simply Swipes plans are eligible for a partial refund according to the university refund and withdraw schedule.

 

Simply Swipes

 Our 40 meal plan is $8.58 per meal, and the 80 meal plan is $7.58 per meal.

  • Where - Any Dining Hall or Discovery Perks Grill.*
    *Discovery Perks Grill Combo Meal: 1 swipe = daily entreé + side + medium fountain beverage -OR- salad (from salad bar) + protein + medium fountain beverage.
  • When - 7-days-a-week, anytime Dining Halls are open during the semester.
  • Why we love it - Guaranteed savings on Dining Hall meals to use wherever you please. Running low on swipes? Add more anytime.
  • Prices - With tax: $676.56 (80-meal) and $382.12 (40-meal), plans must be paid in advance.

Faculty & Staff Appreciation Lunches

On special days each month during the fall and spring semesters, UNT Faculty and Staff can enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat lunch in any of our Dining Halls for only $8.83 (normally $10.05) plus tax. Must present active UNT Faculty/Staff ID card at time of purchase.

Groups & Departments

Treat your team, department or campus guests to breakfast, lunch or dinner at Dining Halls, Avesta, Retail Restaurants and more.

Group Tickets:
University departments may purchase meal tickets to use in our dining locations during normal hours of operation. Please note that prices do not include applicable sales taxes, and will be applied at the time of purchase. All tickets must be paid for in advance of issue. Sales are final and no refunds are provided for unused tickets.

Departmental Credit
Departmental Credit is a no-hassle method for UNT departments to charge food purchases from university dining locations to a monthly Internal Department Order (IDO) using a card you can swipe at any Dining Services venue. Read more about how Departmental Credit works, and how to request it, below.

Getting Started
  1. Complete the registration form below.
  2. Following the form submission, the department head should send an email to Suzan.Cruz@unt.edu with their EUID and initials to serve as their electronic signature.
  3. We will contact you by email when your card is ready for pick up from the Welcome Center (Room 237). Please bring a state issued ID or driver license.

How It Works

This card can be used at any Dining Services location. This includes all Dining Halls, all Retail Locations and Avesta. No outside vendors will accept this card as a form of payment.

This card will be tax-exempt.

We will send an IDO with each month's charges. For a breakdown of charges by location, please send a request to Suzan.Cruz@unt.edu, specifying the month needed.

If the card is lost or stolen, it will be the responsibility of the Department to contact us for cancellation. We will provide a new card at that time.

Departmental Credit Policies

You are required to follow all university policies and procedures when using this card ⁠— in regard to the purchase of food, as well as the regulations set by your department. 

Your department is responsible for any and all charges. If your card is lost or stolen, please contact us at 940-565-2462. We will cancel your card and provide a replacement. 

This card is a stored value purchase and may only be charged using Dining’s point-of-sale system. This card does not include Dining Hall swipes. Users will be charged the Standard Door Rate for each guest.

There is no discounted price for any products.  

When experiencing any problems with this card, please contact the Manager on Duty. If the MOD is unable to resolve those issues, please call the administrative office #2462.
