We strongly encourage groups to pay in advance. 

To ensure the best experience for all guests in our high-volume venues, we cannot process individual transactions for large groups of visitors to our dining halls. We also cannot process checks.

Group Dining Guidelines

Paying at the Door

Groups are welcome to pay our Standard Door Rate on-site but will be limited to a single transaction paid by credit/debit or contactless payment for the group. Groups who wish to pay individually are encouraged to visit our Retail Restaurants We do not accept paper checks.

Arrival Times for Groups 25+

To ensure the best experience for all guests, we request that groups of 25+ arrive before 11:45 a.m. or after 1:15 p.m. View our standard hours of operation

Requesting a Visit
We encourage all guest to schedule their visits at least 1 week in advance to ensure time for payment processing, food preparation and any changes wanting to be made to the booking. 
Reserving Seating
 Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We are unable to reserve tables for groups. 
Group Size Exceeding Original Estimate
 Our cashier will count the number of guests in your group as they enter the Dining Hall. If your group size exceeds the original guarantee, we will charge our Standard Door Rate for the remaining total number of guests to a single payment method (credit/debit or contactless payment) and provide a printed receipt for your records. These transactions are subject to sales tax without the necessary paperwork present.  
Dining Hall Food & Drink Policy
 Outside food or drinks are not permitted in Dining Halls. Food may not be removed from Dining Halls. For takeout options, please visit our Retail Restaurants.

Ensuring Timely Service

To ensure timely service, please encourage your party to split into smaller groups and visit the full variety of Retail Restaurants on Level 2 of the University Union.

Avoiding Wait & Queue Times

Queues and wait times will be longest during peak meal periods, between 12pm – 2pm.

Seating

Limited seating is available throughout the University Union and outside the building on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pre-paid Vouchers & Coupons

Pre-paid vouchers & coupons can be purchased in advance. Call 940-565-2462 for details.

Visiting Scholars and Departmental Meal Plans

Instructions to eable the visitor to puchase a plan. 
The department head or chair must email Dining@unt.edu with the following information:

  • Statement requesting a Visiting Scholar be approved to purchase a Faculty/Staff Meal Plan.
  • Scholar's full name.
  • Scholar’s EUID (8-digit UNT ID).
  • Requested Faculty/Staff Meal Plan.
  • Confirmation that the scholar accepts the meal plan policies.
  • Include the scholar’s email in the message (CC).

Dining Services will confirm activation by email, allowing the scholar to purchase a plan.

If the Department Is Purchasing the Meal Plan

Email Dining@unt.edu with the above information (items 2–5).

Dining Services will provide an IDT form. The department must:

  • Complete the Chart of Accounts (COA).
  • Obtain the department head's signature.
  • Return the signed form to Dining Services.

Once completed:

  • The meal plan will be loaded onto the scholar’s UNT ID card.
  • Billing will be processed through the university's journaling system.

Summer Camps and Conference Meals

The best value for your conference or camp is to simply plan your meals around our summer operating Dining Hall. The Convenience Rates listed below will apply.

As always, our policy is to meet or beat any quoted price for meal service.

All meals available at our full-service, all-you-can-eat Meal Plan Member summer Dining Hall: Bruceteria.

Bruceteria serves a broad menu daily, including pizza, pasta, hot entrées, plant-based options, Clark Bakery desserts, soft serve ice cream, and more.
